How do I find the axis’ of symmetry for a hyperbola without a graph.

This depends on what you've learned at this point. Presumably, either they've just given you the formulas for this for different hyperbolas, or you know calculus.

if y=2/x then x=2/y and the function will be symmetric across y=x and y=-x
