I often see modular arithmetic being mentioned here, but I'm not sure what it actually entails. Isn't it basically just doing normal arithmetic but then taking everything mod whichever equivalence class you're working in?

You could have a look at "Invitation to Number Theory" by Ore to see if it's close to what you want. It's easy to find PDFs online.

I did this all wrong but got the right answer? Took half of .075, used d=(1+i)/i to get discount rate, and just added. Decimal was off, but i got the numbers right. Luck?
