It’s definitely possible. If you were able to take the 4th place in the olympiad without studying, you should be able to quality in the top six in a HS olympiad.

Probably, if you placed that well in a national competition without studying and actually put time into studying. May I ask where you are from and how much time exactly you have left before you can no longer attend IMO?

I did this all wrong but got the right answer? Took half of .075, used d=(1+i)/i to get discount rate, and just added. Decimal was off, but i got the numbers right. Luck?
