Topologists can’t tell the difference between a cup of coffee and a doughnut.

I've noticed algebraists and topologists are more outgoing and tend to be comprised of more women. PDE and analysis is normally a total introverted sausagefest. And applied mathematicians are usually the most "normal" of the lot, and also  many of them seem to have a knack for music.

Just my personal anecdotal experience.

Not a mathematician but it seems like they think in terms of math as an approach to solving things or doing things. Like a game of chess, go, or maybe even a non-math activity.

Physicist here: I prefer my french fries on a plate, parallel and ascending of course. Potato chips also seem to be sorted by circumference and completeness.
