And if so, what industry? Do you use it more for coding related things, math stuff, or production/conceptualizing uses?

Yes. My company went as far as setting up seminars to show how to incorporate it in our work.

I see why people wouldn't want it to use for terminology and more product specific stuff, as it's confidently incorrect and you would need to verify things from other channels anyway.

For advanced math things I can see it being a little useful, as that's easier to verify and it could help speed things up.

The main reason I could see it being useful is in coding, as actuaries tend to need to do some coding, but it isn't usually their main job function. It could give a good starting point for advanced SQL queries or help debug your VBA.

My company doesn't allow it, though, so I was just curious where others stood.

No - life in US. I still use it occasionally on a personal device to quickly get something like a complex excel formula together or some info I would normally get in a google search

Not banned, but there’s a warning reminding people to be responsible when using it. I love using it for code examples and just some concepts or terminology I’m not familiar with.

It's banned on our network but I have used it on my personal computer when I'm really struggling with a bit of VBA and then repeat that code on my work PC, it's quicker than 10 different StackOverflow threads for sure.

No but I just use it through Bing

Nope - it's banned. I have real concerns about using this kind of tool in a professional setting. If it gave you an incorrect answer about a topic how would you even know?

I work with it everyday (life in EU). Debug sql vba python excel. I ask questions (sometimes stupid) as i will ask google.
I’m not sure why asking chatgpt is less secure than google ?
