what % do you think is worth switching jobs for ?

I make \~160k(after bonus) + pre-IPO equity . I feel like i'd need 200 ++ to move on (i like my job for the most part). I've had some recruiters just disappear after laying that out there lol. What do you guys look for (more curious than anything, im sticking to my guns for now).

Depends on industry / area - given current tech climate I’d definitely hold off if you’re looking at a role in tech or at a startup unless you’re comfortable with risk.

I’ve typically gotten a 25-40% bump in TC when I’ve switched jobs, so I’m targeting that for my next role. Plus enough of a sign on bonus to cover the equity I’d walk away from to make sure year 1 has at least a 25% bump.

Honestly once you’re making pretty good money (and I’d say you are), leaving you job is mostly about being bored, thinking you’re going to get laid off, or an offer you can’t refuse. What is an offer you can’t refuse? Person by person. I’m learning a lot and definitely upping my skills in my current role, money is pretty good, it would take probably 20% guaranteed more $$$ to convince me to leave and only then if the work situation seemed at least as good.

20-25% is definitely what i look for.

And yes - there are going to be times in your career where you get stuck for a minute. And it's entirely possible that you just don't have the resume yet to warrant 200k.

But you'll get there. Part of what you'll need to look at is "well, what skills pay that much?".

It’s more about how much more per month it is for me. Absolute magnitude matter here too. 3k-5k more a month AFTER taxes is enough to cover extra expenses and save. This translates to 60-100k more.

Coincidentally my pay is similar to yours and 200k (after bonus, or $175k base) is what I have in mind, plus 100% WFH.

If I were you I'd probably say 185 if I wanted to move and 200 if I didn't particularly.
