I'm moving to another universe with more dimensions. This one is boring.

So from the article it notes that some people postulate that we may live in more than just the usual three spatial dimensions and if we ever observe a non-spherical black hole (especially from small experimental ones that we create?) then that would prove it. But it's 100% theoretical.

TL;DR: this may be interesting math but may very well not apply to our universe at all unless we actually live in more than 3 spatial dimensions.

It's stuff like this that reminds me why I'm going to all the effort of becoming a mathematician and learning general relativity by myself.

Something i always wondered was whether the spin of the black hole could make it more of an ellipsoid than a sphere.

And with enough spin even a ring.

Would that be possible?
