I am a financial analyst with 15 years experience in finance and another 5 in BI. I have experience with tableau, power bi and I have advanced SQL skills. I want to advance my skills and get into an IT department as an analyst and get out of the finance dept. I got an email from datacamp and they offer python and sql classes. Has anyone taken these classes and had it advance their careers?  I don’t want to spend the money and time if they don’t offer skills that I can use on the job. Thanks

I started out with them. I was formerly using SPSS with a background in C and C++

Their R courses were really strong back then. Their Python courses were rather weak. Their courses, like all other courses, depend on the creator or instructor,  so some courses are crap while some are really strong. I am not sure about today when there is much less demand for skills in R due to better Python APIs.

It got me a foothold in the profession as I was using R back then. I would say that it is good to sign up for a year only, but you will gradually outgrow the content after a year.
