Hello, I was wondering if I should major in CS or Math if I want to be a data scientist/analyst in healthcare. Or should I go a different route?

If you are wondering why I am picking healthcare. It’s because I already work in it as an intake specialist.

Yeah I’d do CS + Math, or CS + Math minor if you can, but just CS is fine too. Also do your best to try to get data science or analyst related internships. You can definitely get a data analyst role with just a bachelors but it will be difficult (not impossible) to get a DS role without some related internship experience or a masters.

I guess I’m going against other commenters by saying math - I did my undergrad in math, and my MS in statistics, and I have 5 years of experience working in healthcare (& pharmaceuticals) as a DS.
