Hello,

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if there are actuaries who work for sports betting companies. It doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility.

I don't think this is what you are looking for, but ...

I came across a sports betting app called Fliff.  Looked em up on LinkedIn and the founder is a former actuary.

The app is unusual in that it claims to be a "sweepstakes", as opposed to a bookmaker.  You can play w actual cash, except they call it "Fliff Cash". They also have a play money option. But I digress...

I’ve kept an eye peeled for oddsmaker type positions for a while and it’s quite difficult to crack into it. Likely would need to work your way up from ticket writer which — no thanks.

Analytics for a team, you could certainly swing that. I received a little traction from an MLB team when I was looking for jobs last fall but ultimately stayed in the industry.

Draftkings and the like are probably going to be a better ‘bet’ than say, brick and motor style casinos like MGM etc.
