For some reason this brought to mind those mind-numbing “think of seven, multiply it by two, add ten, divide by two, subtract five, did you get seven?” ”tricks.”   


Which admittedly gave me a good chuckle imagining someone writing a Quanta article about “the secret math” behind those.
