Since x is in the Euclidean plane, x = (x\_1, x\_2) for some real numbers x\_1and x\_2.

If you multiply x by t you get: tx = (tx\_1, t\_x\_2).

Since x terminated at (a\_1, a\_2), tx\_1 terminates at ta\_1 and tx\_2 terminates at ta\_2.

Therefore, tx terminates at (ta1, ta2).
