Advice about going into other fields even though I want to pursue CAS

Are you trying to get a job in the U.S.? If yes, I would say just take whatever you can get. It is extremely difficult for international students to get a job in the U.S. because of visa stuff.

As for your other questions. No they will not reimburse for CAS exams. I would definitely not tell them you are more interested in CAS because that will eliminate you from the interview process almost immediately.

If you’re dead-set on P&C, then I would keep applying other places and take the retirement interview to keep your options open.

Yeah don’t tell them that during interviews. As a fellow international student, just worry about getting a job in the US first. You can always look for other opportunities later.
